Sarah (Janis Joplin look alike) and the Apostle Tim (sandals and dreads) were on local liberal talk radio The Tom Turnipseed Show this morning. She sang anti-war, anti-Bush, anti-everything-that-doesn't-allow-me-to-lead-the-irresponsible-bleeding-heart-liberal-lifestyle-that-I-cherish songs, while Tim strummed a guitar. I was on my way back from dropping Ashe off at school when I remembered they'd be on this morning and hunted around the AM dial until I found something that sounded so bad it could only be them. I had to call my husband, the angry Republican, and tell him to tune in. He was still standing near the radio when I got in, shaking his head and grinning. "I hope you write this stuff in that diary thing of yours."
Lots of old business to clear away before I can talk of anything new, so without further delay...The State Fair was grand, as always, but the night was a bit warm and humid. A good time was had by all and lots of pictures were taken, and if I ever get a paid account it would be fun to post them. That was October 12th, and on the evening of the 15th Ashe and I attended the South Carolina Shakespeare Theater's performance of Macbeth at the little amphitheater in Finlay Park. We sat huddled together under blankets, sipping hot cocoa. Very nice.
Now that I think about it, I guess there really isn't anything new to talk about. My French lessons have moved beyond slang and vulgarities, and I'm actually learning useful stuff now. Okay, there's still the occasional dirty word thrown in to keep it interesting.
Coworker Ben is back from Costa Rica and he's looking for a realator to sell his house so they can leave here for good. What I don't get is that he and the wifey don't give a damn what might be best for those little girls. All they know is they want the hell out of this country so they can go live in a tent on a goat farm in the middle of nowhere. I was shocked and sad when I saw the little girls, they looked as if they'd gone through hell and back again. Take it from someone who grew up with lawless gypsies, it's not a lot of fun being at the will of mentally unstable adults.
