An avid fan of Cosmo Doogood's Urban Almanac, I polished my hunter/gatherer skills city folk style yesterday morning after my daughter dropped me at work an hour before we open. With time on my hands I began collecting pecans from the deck and trimming herbs from the garden we keep. This time of year it's mostly hearty rosemary. The pecans will be toasted and used as a topping for yams, and the rosemary will be baked into biscuits.
I'm not terribly concerned what may be wrong with my car, it's always something. Work is only two miles away and I enjoy walking or riding my bicycle. To everyone else's shock and dismay I also like taking the bus. It's affordable, reliable, and I can read while someone else worries about the driving. The transfer center is my only complaint about our mass transportation system. It's inevitable I'll go there each trip regardless of my destination and it's just...awful. I have a fairly small personal space bubble but the transfer center violates every inch of it. Anyway, I'm off to work-with a large tote for any treasures I may find along the way.
