Also, admittedly I am excited about taking the trip on my own. I do this sometimes, but usually it's in the evenings and I'm not able to spend much time with nature or take pictures along the way to and from. But today I took the daughter to school so that I may borrow her car since it's only a few years old (my poor old '89 wouldn't be very appreciative of such a trip) and the weather is unbelievably gorgeous!
