The chill of winter has moved on and I'm soaking up every ray of sun possible. The city is in bloom, splashes of color from azaleas are everywhere, and wisteria hangs from practically every tree. I've enjoyed many nice lunch breaks on the deck at work, reading and watching as the trees fill in a little more each day with little green buds at first, then fluffy sprouts of newborn leaves. With every gentle breeze a light snowfall of petals drifts down from the Bradford pear trees. My own yard has transformed into a fairy tale garden with purple drifts of wisteria petals blanketing the ground. It's become ritual every night to sit outside on the porch swing and just breathe it all in. Of course along with the lovely blossoms and the new leaves we are experiencing a rather heavy dusting of golden pollen. It's everywhere, on everything. The weather man says clouds tomorrow and maybe some rain to wash this gold, sneezey stuff away. It makes me smile to watch it run down the street drains after the rain.
